In each of the four states where marriage is on the ballot this fall, straight couples who support freedom to marry — often awakened to the issue by their kids — have appeared in videos to tell their stories.
First, from here in Maryland, Pat and Jenny Nugent, active Catholics explaining why they will vote their consciences:
From Minnesota, Kim and John from Savage, Minn., also Catholics as well as Republicans: “It’s okay to take a second look.”
I find these videos tremendously moving and could watch them all day. What do you think? From Washington state, parents Robin and Steve Boehler of Mercer Island, Wash.:
Finally, two from Maine. First, Pat and Dan Lawson of Monroe, Me.:
And the Gardner family of Machias, Me.:
“Marriage is too precious a thing not to share…. This isn’t about politics. It’s about family, and how we as people treat one another.”
Vote FOR Question 6 on November 6, 2012.
